The last few episodes of the Evangelion anime made it seem like Shinji was interested in a genuine, romantic relationship with Kaworu. Idk, evangelion's confusing.

Shinji Ikari 碇 シンジ Ikari Shinji is a bisexual character from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Shinji Ikari is the protagonist of the Evangelion series, he is the Third Child and the pilot of Evangelion Unit Born on June 6th, , Shinji was the first and only child of Scientists Gendo and Yui Ikari.

But focusing on Shinji's feelings and his relationship with Kaworu, some see his acceptance of Kaworu's affection, in contrast with his fear of women and girls, as him realizing he is homosexual and coming to terms with that.
